Please note that we ask for timely notification of requests to prepare for your visit.

Accessible Parking

A driveway located on University Avenue provides a safe, curb-free area for loading and unloading directly in front of the museum. During normal business hours, there is one accessible, disabled-permit parking stall in this area. UW disabled permit stalls are available to park in after 4:30 p.m., and all day Saturday and Sunday. Contact visitor services at 608-262-9677 or ccoolidge@chazen.wisc.edu for more information.

Entrances and Elevators

All entrances to the museum have accessible power-assist doors. The Chazen Museum of Art consists of two buildings: the Conrad A. Elvehjem building at 800 University Avenue, and the Chazen building at 750 University Avenue. The buildings are joined by an enclosed bridge, accessible via stairs or an elevator, from the third floor.

The Chazen building’s elevator is located in the main lobby on the west side of the building next to the Chazen Café. This elevator provides access to all levels of the building.

The Elvehjem building’s elevator is on the north side of the building and is not accessible from the University Avenue entrance, but can be accessed from the north entrance.

Wheelchairs

The Chazen Museum of Art is fully wheelchair accessible. Manual wheelchairs may be checked out, free of charge. To borrow a wheelchair, please ask at the visitor services desk in the lobby of the Chazen building.
