Lingen will lead an in-depth discussion of contemporary printmaking featuring works from the Chazen’s collection.
In celebration of the Chazen’s 50th anniversary in 2020, and in acknowledgement that art-making increasingly crosses disciplines and departments, Faculty Exhibition 2020 features work from faculty and staff across the campus who utilize art-making in their teaching and research. Projects explore relationships between the artist’s own work and specific art works in the museum’s collection, or the artist’s own work and the museum’s public spaces and architecture.
Ask Me docents are available to answer questions about exhibitions and the permanent collection on Thursdays and Fridays. Just ask!
Interviews with twenty-one students and teachers of book arts (past and present) preserved by the UW–Madison Archives oral history program will be presented alongside examples of their works from the Kohler Art Library’s Artists’ Book Collection.
Join James R. Wehn, PhD, Van Vleck Curator of Works on Paper, to view and discuss some of the greatest hits from the Chazen’s enormous print collection.
